Ergonomic Presentations
The goal of the Ergonomic Presentation is to increase productivity and reduce the risk of injury in the workstation. Presentations are given by Site Solutions physical and occupational therapists.
The on-site presentation educates employees about the causes and prevention of Repetitive Stress Injuries. Site Solutions also teaches employees to use the equipment available in the office and to perform simple exercises to decrease fatigue and the risk of injury.
One Hour Presentation
- Review of prevalence of ergonomic injuries in the office environment.
- Definition of ergonomics and how it applies to the office setting.
- Explanation of Repetitive Stress Injuries and their underlying causes.
- How Repetitive Stress Injuries progress into injuries.
- Connection between posture and the risk of injury.
- Correct positioning of the chair.
- Workstation organization using ergonomic principles.
- Review of adjustments of office furniture currently in use.
- Four page employee manual reviewing ergonomic principles.
- Review of exercises to reduce stress and fatigue associated with prolonged sitting.
- Laminated exercise sheet.
- Presentation given to up to 25 employees, approximate time one hour.
Half Hour Presentation
- Definition of ergonomics and how it applies to the office setting.
- Explanation of Repetitive Stress Injuries and the underlying causes.
- How Repetitive Stress Injuries progress into injuries.
- Connection between posture and the risk of injury.
- Correct positioning of chair and workstation using ergonomic principles.
- One page handout on chair positioning and workstation set-up.
- Presentation given to up to 25 employees, approximate time one half-hour.
