Remote Ergonomics Assessments

Telecommuting is becoming more and more popular with 80% to 90% of the US workforce reporting they would like to telework at least part-time. Unfortunately, there are few services to help people set up their home office to be productive and pain-free.  Many people just go to Amazon or the local big box stationary/electronics/furniture store and buy the cheapest desk and chair they can find or simply use their laptop at the kitchen table. The problem is if the workstation is not set up correctly it can cause pain and potentially debilitating injury. Getting a qualified ergonomist to help set up your home office can be almost impossible! Even if you can find someone to visit, scheduling an appointment can be slow and expensive.  Until Now!

Site Solutions has created a remote ergonomic assessment to solve this problem. A remote office ergonomic assessment is a great alternative for those who telecommute or are not near a consultant who can provide an on-site assessment. We request pictures of you in the workstation that allow us to see how you are working and identify potential risks. Using webcams and an online meeting program, we can review the photos to identify potential risks and work with you to create a pain-free and functional home office!

How Does it Work?

Contact us for pricing and information for a remote ergonomic assessment (includes photo analysis, an online consult, and a written report).  To get started, you will just need to take several photos and complete the Remote Assessment Form.

Upon receipt of your request, our ergonomist will review your photos and concerns and will send appointment booking information to schedule your on-line assessment.

Our ergonomist will ask you about your work activities to understand your needs then use a video feed to review your pictures. Potential problems and solutions will be discussed. We make every effort to teach you how to use the equipment you already have to support a functional work station. If any equipment is needed, Site Solutions can make recommendations of what to look for and where to order it; however, we do not sell equipment and only recommend products that we think would help your situation.

A written ergonomic summary report with your photos, recommended changes, and equipment (if needed) will be completed during the evaluation and sent to you within three days of the evaluation. Vendor information may be provided if requested.

Before you begin your request, you will need to have someone take several photos of you at your workstation:

  1. Profile of you in the workstation. If possible, get your entire body, chair, and monitor in the photo. Please be sure to wear clothes that contrast the furniture/background to more easily illustrate potential problems.
  2. An activity that causes pain or discomfort. This can be a close-up picture that shows your area of concern.
  3. A wider angle view of you at your workstation to show how you fit in the workspace.
